Advantages of a factory-built home
Prefabrication is the production of factory-built structures or structure parts. Habitec 2000 uses prefabrication to maintain affordability by combining the purchase of bulk quantities of materials, better assembly techniques and mass production as well as the need for minimal qualified manpower.
For example, the prefabrication of windows, doors, or cupboards has long been an important aspect in the construction industry enabling better quality control while reducing manpower costs.
Moreover, the increased use of computer processing allows the purchaser to profit from a certain degree of personalization while preserving affordability. Last but not least, certain components such as structural insulated panels are much more energy efficient.
In Sweden and Norway, countries whose climate is comparable to our own, 80% to 85% of all homes are prefabricated which says a lot about the quality and reliability of this product.
